I should have written about this ages ago but you know…life gets in the way! It came to my attention last year that IKEA runs a buy back scheme for the majority of their products- genius right!? So for all those trusty impulse buy items you’ve gone and bought thinking it’ll be a great addition for your interior to only decide down the line you don't actually like it, then fear not, you could get a fair portion of your money back with the buy back scheme.
Obviously, there are certain items that you can’t return like bedding, particular furniture designs, market hall items - there is a more comprehensive list on their website. And all items need to be returned ‘built’ and in a ‘like new’ ish state. Just follow the on-screen estimator to work out how much you may get back and drop it back into store.
I think this is such a great idea, that is if you live locally to an IKEA. Our nearest one is Exeter and I’m certainly not planning on trundling up the A30 anytime soon to return any furniture - our local Facebook marketplace does a pretty sound job of shifting on stuff we have to get rid of and IKEA items go like hotcakes down here. But hey, if you didn’t know then you do now and it's always good to have options.
